Misfire
His lungs strained to pull in another breath. Legs pumping, he ran toward his salvation. Trees splintered to his left and right, raining slivers of wood upon him, piercing his skin, drawing blood. The searing heat from the staff weapons came close time and again, but the blue of the Stargate beckoned him forward. He rounded the last corner and found the strength to yell, to order his team to safety. "Go!" Carter first, then Daniel stepped through. Teal'c paused, sending volleys toward the chasing Jaffa, before ducking into the shimmering puddle. But this time, one shot did not miss.
