Greetings from over the Atlantic

Greetings and salutations from somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean at approximately 35,000 feet above the Earth's surface.

And, best of all, I have a broadband connection.

I'm on my way home from Germany after a good press trip. Weather could have been nicer, but it was good to be able to wander around the city—even though it was raining and chilly. Good beer always helps to warm me up though.

Thankfully, Toni's jinx of the trip didn't turn out to be much—that is if you don't count the fact that she was stuck in middle seats on both legs of the trip. :: hugs ::

I'm very happy to be heading home and looking forward to spending a night in my own bed, granted it's only for a week until I'm on the move once again. At least this time it's domestic.

Oh. And I managed to survive the presentation in St. Louis. They apparently liked me. :: blushes furiously :: Kinda weird no matter how you look at it though.

So, I think I finally figured out where the rest of my SGA fic is going (woohoo) and thanks to Toni for helping me "walk" though it this morning and last night. I'm in the mood to do some writing, but checking email is first on my list today. That, and this blog post, of course. Having no internet access for several days definitely can be annoying. I'm surprised I've survived the whole situation.

And the whole jetlag thing…sucks. I'm not really sure if I'm coming or going and I'm waking up more tired than when I go to bed. Ugh.

OH. And free Baileys on flights is always fun.

Anyway. I'll be back home tonight sometime, catching up and chatting. You know where to find me…

Where am I?

Well, home again at least for a few hours before I leave again. Managed to get on the earlier flight out of St. Louis (woohoo) and home in time for dinner. So, this time I'll be home for a whopping 22 hours before leaving again. And, I'll get to experience airport #3 in three days. Yey for me. Okay...maybe not.

It seems like the whole speaking/presentation thingie went well. They seemed to have liked me, which is a good thing. And I managed to talk the entire hour and fifteen minutes of my slotted time. How I managed that I'm not quite sure. And, I think I might have gotten other speaking engagements because of it. :: bangs head on desk :: That wasn't supposed to happen.

So...now that Toni jinxed the trip to Germany, who knows what might happen over the next few days. :: sends evil glare eastward ::

And i get to pack again tomorrow. Joy.

Let's all sing with dee.

If it's Thursday, it must be...

Greetings and salutations everyone and welcome to the wacky world of Dee's spring travel. Depending on the day you might find me in a different city, state, country, or continent!! Like right now, I'm writing this little note from St. Louis, not far from that fun little Arch. Tomorrow, on the other hand, I might be writing from my home in NY. Come Sunday, it'll be from Munich, Germany.

Yeah, I travel too much.

I'm kinda looking forward to the Germany trip because it means that my presentation will be over and done (woohoo!) and I can relax. (That's what I'm in St. Louis for, I have to stand up in front of like 40 people and give a presentation. Thankfully the number is down from 60.) I just pray that this trip to Munich is nothing like my last trip there. Let's just say 36 hours of horrible, horrible, what else can go wrong travel. And I'm going with Toni again. And I've already told her that if anything horrible happens it MUST be her fault cause these kinds of things don't happen when I travel by myself or with others.

Anyway...up to 100 pages on the "short" SGA fic (Trinity tag). I have to get this last scene done and then I'll have part one completed and I can get the snot beat out of it by the betas. Who knows, maybe I'll post it and then start writing part two. Hmm. Maybe. I don't like posting unfinished fics. We'll see.

Okay...time to finish dinner and re-read my notes....and maybe find a story or two or three to read.

Another blog for dee

Okay. I decided to make a new blog because Toni suggested it since she apparently thinks that I'm going to be recommending various fics and such cause I read way too many.

So, Toni, this blog is for you!...and well, anyone else who wants to know what fics I'm reading and enjoying. So, yeah, for you.

A few random thoughts

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I really need to update this a little more often. :: sigh :: And I should probably take more vitamins and eat all my veggies too.

So, work's been crazy busy and unfortunately has gotten me working weekends, which, let me tell you, is no fun. Although the upcoming trips should be very interesting. In the next 10 weeks I'm going to be in St. Louis, Germany (with Toni and this trip BETTER be uneventful), Orlando, Orlando, Amsterdam, and maybe San Fransico (still unsure about this one). I'm looking forward to the overseas trips (gotta get all those stamps in the passport) but with all the other stuff (read: work) I have to do, it makes things stressful. But there are possible fall trips to Israel, Japan, and the Western Mediterrean in the works. Let's see how many actually materialize.

On the fic front, we're up to about 77 pages and we're still in "week one". And here I thought it was going to be a short 50-page or so fic. BUT I'm very proud of myself cause I finally badgered (or is it beavered?) Toni and she wrote a nice-sized SGA fic. Once it goes through the betas and she gets enough courage I"m sure you'll see it on one of the archives. I'll be sure to point it out to you. It's good. Trust me on this.

I got around to watching both Inferno and Allies again, and I have to say I loved both. Inferno was already a home-run, but Allies was better the second time around. But now I want Season Three to start NOW, not in July. Think they'll listen to the crazy fan fiction writer? Yeah, me either.

Anywho...off to continue writing. Got about an hour and a half before I turn into a pumpkin tonight. Three days of meetings this week...joy.
